About the speaker

Nikhil (Nik) Mehta joined Capital One in September of 2022 and leads the Technology Audit team efforts focusing on Enterprise Products and Platforms, Data management, Line of Business Technology, Machine Learning, and Commercialization activities. Nik joined Capital One from Twitter where he led the Technology Audit team, and most recently played a role as interim Chief Auditor. At Twitter, Nik quickly learned the complexities of the technologies they relied on and the cybersecurity threats attributed to their very public platform. He also played a role in the due diligence activities of early growth ventures. Prior to Twitter, Nik spent 15 years in the financial services industry in various audit leadership roles at large institutions, including JP Morgan, BlackRock, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup. There he was heavily involved in the development of data analytics, protection, and privacy initiatives and also led technology audits, including those supporting trading and investment functions. Born and raised in New Delhi, India, Nik moved to the United States to pursue graduate school at Stonybrook University in New York and Stern School of Business at New York University. Nik is married to his wife and has 2 children (10 year old daughter Myra and 5 year old boy Krish). They love to go on hikes on weekends as a family and spend a lot of time doing fun things. When not spending time with kids, Nik can be found on a tennis court, very early morning at the golf course or reading a book.
